My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with grey, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy…

A duʿā from Sūrah Maryam in which Zakariyyā عليه السلام calls upon Allāh with humility, expressing his ضعف and asking for a righteous heir.

My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with grey, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.
And indeed, I fear those who will come after me, and my wife has been barren, so grant me from Yourself an heir.
Who will inherit from me and inherit from the family of Yaʿqūb, and make him, my Lord, pleasing.

Rabbi innī wahanā al-ʿaẓmu minnī wa-ishtaʿala al-raʾsu shaybā, wa lam akun bi-duʿāʾika rabbi shaqiyyā.
Wa innī khiftu al-mawāliya min warāʾī wa kānat imraʾatī ʿāqiran fa-hab lī min ladunka waliyyā.
Yarithunī wa yarithu min āli Yaʿqūb wa-jʿalhu rabbi raḍiyyā.
