رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ . وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ . وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ . وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ . وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ . يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ . إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ .
My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children, But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.
Rabbi hab lī ḥukmān wa alḥiqnī biṣ-ṣāliḥīn. Wajʿal lī lisāna ṣidqin fil-ākhirīn. Wajʿalnī min warathati jannatin-naʿīm. Waghfir li abī innahu kāna minaḍ-ḍāllīn. Wa lā tukhzinī yawma yubʿathūn. Yawma lā yanfaʿu mālun walā banūn. Illā man atallāha biqalbin salīm.
Context
When reflecting on one's legacy and seeking Allah's mercy and guidance. To ask for wisdom, righteousness, a good legacy, and protection on the Day of Judgment.
This duʿā was made by Prophet Ibrāhīm (Abraham) asking Allah for wisdom, to be among the righteous, to be remembered with honor by future generations, to be among the inheritors of Paradise, and for the forgiveness of his father. He also seeks protection from disgrace on the Day of Resurrection and acknowledges the importance of having a pure heart on that Day.
