Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell…

A supplication seeking protection from the punishment of Hell.

رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا . إِنَّهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا

Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering; Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence.

Rabbanaṣrif ʿannā ʿadhāba jahannam. Innā ʿadhābahā kāna gharāmā. Innahā sāʾat mustaqarran wa muqāmā.

When seeking Allah's protection from the punishment of Hell. To express fear of the Hereafter and seek Allah's protection from Hellfire.

Benefits

This duʿā is a plea for protection from the severe punishment of Hell. It emphasizes the believer's fear of the eternal torment and their hope in Allah's mercy and protection.
