A heartfelt supplication from Sūrah al-Aʿrāf where believers ask Allah for patience and a death in a state of submission to Him.
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims.
Rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabran wa tawaffanā muslimīn.
Context
This Duʿā can be recited when seeking strength and patience, especially during challenging times, and when reflecting on one's eventual departure from this world. To ask Allah for the strength to remain patient in the face of challenges and to seek a death while being in a state of submission to Him.
This supplication was made by the magicians who believed in the message of Prophet Mūsā (Moses) after witnessing the miracle of the staff. They made this duʿā when they were threatened with punishment by Pharaoh.
Benefits
This duʿā is a plea for steadfastness and a righteous end. It signifies the desire to remain patient in the face of adversity and to die in a state of complete submission to Allah.
